- It’s important to know how much you are paying for things on holiday so keep your eye on the exchange rate to make sure you’re not being overcharged.
- Try taking a mix of local currently, UK cash and travellers cheques on holiday with you. Some countries prefer Sterling to their own currency so if you’re lucky you might find yourself a nice little bargain!
- Get your travel insurance up to date ladies. Make sure it covers your holiday destination and the full length of your trip and remember to check for any travel insurance extras you might need such as winter sports or wedding cover.
- Take time to pack your suitcase. Try not to leave it to the last minute ladies because if you forget something you can’t simply pop home to pick it up! You should also try not to take too much on holiday with you – remember, your suitcase has a weight limit when you check-in at the airport. If you over pack (which is easily done for most women!), and your luggage is too heavy it can be very expensive to pay the excess charges.
- Only pack the bare essentials in your hand luggage. It can be easy to get carried away and pop all your makeup, a couple of bottles of perfume and maybe a few clothes in there but hand luggage has a weight limit too. It’s also worth remembering that you can only take a couple of bottles of liquid in your hand luggage which are limited to 100ml each and you must tell airport security that you are carrying them.
- Try to do a little research on the country you are travelling to. Check out local customs before you go so you have a heads up on local culture, security and the best places for a woman to eat!
